Lloyd Garmadon would have never expected things to take such a dangerous turn, but when the mysterious gang known as the Sons of Garmadon steal the Oni Mask of Vengeance from Cyrus Borg, The Ninja are tasked to protect the Royal family, and stop the group before they become an even bigger threat to the citizens of ninjago.
(A rewrite that adds more angst, more danger, and more Kai and Cole focus (I swear they were done so dirty.))

“Damn brat.” Greed grumbles but doesn’t push the issue. He smooths out their trench coat and looks around. All he can see is snow, snow, some ice, and even more snow.
“Looks like we landed ourselves into Winter Wonderland.”

“How much longer?” Garmadon grumbled, using his cloak he packed to not get cold from the frosty wind that bites his skin. I guess I'm glad that I listen to Wu… The trees around the boys stretch on what it seems like forever. Other than the dry wood trees this place was nothing but a winter wasteland.
“Wu! This is your fault!” Garmadon yelled. “If you never picked up that relic we would never be here in the first place?! Once again making mistakes costing our LIVES and now we’re no way closer to getting that tea!”
Wu looked down. He’s right… If I didn’t listen, If I had known we wouldn’t be here. “I’m sorry I just thought-“
“What! That it would have helped them? And the lady specifically said it was a cursed object?!” Wu stayed quiet. Only the sound of the wind and crunches of their footsteps they make could be heard. A few minutes had passed but a low growling could be heard.AKA

He didn't know if he could ever be who they were expecting again, the ice had creeped too close to his heart, and he was sure it encased everything inside that had made him Zane. Now all that was left was the remnants of The Ice Emperor. But, he was beginning to doubt that he could go back to being The Emperor either.

Instead of getting all of Zane's memories back with the singular word, as The Ice Emperor he simply is unable to hurt his friends. Once they take him down they will have to work with him to try and get Zane back, but The Ice Emperor is unsure if he'll ever truly be Zane again.

He approached the struggling two, The Emperor now realizing that they both were in the middle of what appeared to be a vortex of ice and lightning, electricity shooting between solid chunks of dark ice.
“Jay you have to let go”. As The Emperor’s ears adjusted he became aware of a different thrumming sound behind all of the chaos, after a few moments he realized it was his and the stranger’s screams.
When a third hand grabbed onto the spear, it began to glow with a blinding light. The Emperor felt it begin to crack within his hand, and all he could do was scream louder as it fully broke within his grasp.
