“Morning.” Talwyn couldn’t help but giggle. She immediately recovered before speaking again. “I think you're starting to shed, Ratchet.”

Summary
Artemis Zogg has been defeated and Ratchet has returned from his self-imposed exile on Veldin, even taking over a shift as the Galactic President's bodyguard to give his two warbot friends a break.
He seems to be back to his old self, but Talwyn knows better. It was obvious to her that Alister's death, and the subsequent loss of the last connection to his race, were still weighing heavily on the young Lombax's mind. Ratchet's desire to "Leave the hero stuff to the other guys" being all the proof she needed.
Desperate to comfort her friend, Talwyn hopes to give Ratchet back a small piece of his lost past, but the key to finding it might lie in facing her own. -

I've been a fan of Ratchet and Clank since I was little and recently I thought it would be cool to read a story where they react to their lives but I wasn't able to find any. So I feel I must take the responsibility of making one. This will be for the future series: Tools of Destruction - Into the Nexus (not including filler games).

Those chilling words are what break Ratchet’s focus away from the Zoni attempting to take away Clank, tugging him through the confines of space and time like a gerbil through a garden hose. The voice grows louder, more fearful as the suffocating feeling increases, puts pressure on his body, until he finds himself freefalling several hundred meters in the air over an arid, desert world. He blacks out, and upon waking he’s confronted with a sight that has him doubting his sanity.
He’s surrounded by children, their wide eyes staring at him with wary fear and hope. That’s not what shocks him.
It’s the fact that they’re Lombaxes.

“Stop,” she yells, hoarsely, as Nefarious raises his knife again. He holds it in midair, cocks his head to the side. “Whatever you want, you can have it. Anything, anything, just stop this!”
Please, she pleads, to anyone or anything out there that might be listening. Please, please, make him stop!
“Anything?” he says after a moment, sounding almost gleeful.
Talwyn swallows the lump in her throat. For Ratchet? “Anything.”
His eyes glow a brighter red. “I want to see you suffer.”

Ratchet gets kidnapped by Nefarious, and Talwyn and Clank go rescue him (and beat up a supervillain in the process). Love the dynamics between the three heroes, their relationships are all very sweet. Also includes wholesome recovery fluff.
Just content warning Nefarious does legitimately torture Ratchet via stabbing so please be careful before reading!

Cronk and Zephyr weren’t perfect companions, and they knew it.
They were both prone to narcolepsy and inconvenient memory lapses. They often lost limbs and required jumpstarts. The difference was, Max could always repair them when they broke. Their Markazian companion, they observed in the three years since they met him, was not so durable.
The parasite he picked up in the jungles of Luzon was proof enough of that.
