Summary
In a world full of secrets, Zoey can feel her friends drifting away from her. Mira is preoccupied worrying about Rumi, and Rumi is busy going on late night trips to unknown places. Zoey needs comfort, and she finds that in Mystery. But when her feelings threaten everything she's built with her friends, she has to let go of their relationship in order for both of them to continue living without the change she constantly fears. However, Mystery isn't yet ready to let go of them.

Rumi smiled down at her. "No you don't. You need to choose."
"Choose what?"

Zoey pouted. "Mira's stronger than I am. Even if I did just punch her, it wouldn't do anything."
Rumi leaned in to knock their shoulders together, small smile still in place. "Then use your teeth."

“Are we sure about this?”
“No, not really,” Zoey admits. She wanted to back up Rumi, and she wanted to be positive, but by the way Baby mills about, eyeing the TV suspiciously, she’s beginning to question her decision. “Is this safe? We were trying to kill each other very recently.”
“You’re the one who seconded bringing them here,” Mira reminds her, and Zoey sighs.
“Why did they come back instead of Jinu?” Rumi mutters, more to herself than anything.
Zoey answers her anyway. “Hey, it’s okay! You can try again soon! You got this, and we’re here.” Romance trips over the couch in a very undignified manner, and Mira slaps a hand over her face. Zoey raises her shoulders and smiles tentatively. “But we do have to figure out these Saja Boys first.”
After Rumi learns of a way to bring souls back in her search for one particular person, the Saja Boys slowly begin returning through trial and error. Turns out, maybe Zoey's type isn't as crush-worthy.

“Sure.” Mystery’s voice was all-knowing, as if sharing an inside joke. He leaned back, letting go of Baby. “For Gwi-Ma, then.”
Baby sneered, mimicking Mystery’s expression.
“The mission was kind of a drag before.” Baby reached up, stretching his back. He looked towards the direction where the girl went. “It’s finally getting kind of fun.”

“You’re a romantic sap in the morning, you know that?” Rumi mumbles against her throat before pausing, “I love you too.”
