Something plunged deep into the pit of Satoru's stomach. It was the first time he felt that silence could be deafening.
He heard Megumi suck a harsh breath beside him.
Shoko gave them both a full two minutes to let it sink. "There was no mistake in the blood test result. Which is why I called you two in here." She crushed the butt of her cigarette and leveled them with an unimpressed stare.
"So...which one of you shitheads actually knocked him up this time?"
