Raising a brow, Andrew pushes off the door. “Have you never heard of a crop top, Neil?”
“Nope,” Neil breathes. “Seems impractical.”
“It’s fashion.” Andrew huffs at the lost cause of reforming Neil. Then, after a moment, he steps forward. “Yes or no?”
Neil blinks. “Yes.” He stands very still as Andrew comes to a stop directly in front of him, sliding his hands to Neil’s bare sides.
“Still impractical?” Andrew challenges, thumbs circling Neil’s skin.
He rolls his eyes. “Easy access is not a practicality.”
Andrew drops his hands and steps away. “If you say so.”

“Have you considered the possibility that Neil has chosen you, but believes you have not chosen him?” Renee says. "Have you ever explicitly told him what you want?”
“Neil knows what I want,” Andrew snaps. This is not Andrew’s fault.
“How do you know?”
Because Neil always knows. He is as fluent in Andrew’s micro-expressions as he is in German and French. He knows which head tilts mean “go on” and which ones mean “shut up.” Without ever asking, he learned what it meant to see Andrew wearing double layers of long sleeves, or taking multiple showers in a day, and learned to hand Andrew the car keys.
That has always been the most terrifying thing about Neil — his patience to wait, watch, listen, learn. The prospect that if Neil were given enough time, there would be no part of Andrew that was just Andrew’s anymore.
“He has to know,” Andrew says.
“Does he?” Renee says. “Have you ever known Neil to assume that he is wanted?”
Five times Neil tells someone that he and Andrew aren’t dating, and one time Andrew uses his words to set the record straight.

Summary
The aftermath of Dabi burning away his wings sends Hawks reeling. He's lost the ground beneath his feet and he's clinging to whatever he can - his mentor/mentee relationship with Tokoyami is strengthened, becoming something more like a true friendship, but he can't get over the feeling that he's failed his student. Promising himself vengeance, things quickly become complicated, especially when he suspects that Dabi is in possession of one of his feathers; which may also serve as the key to getting his wings back. A combination of dreams starring Dabi and his own loss of self leaves him standing on unsteady ground, and he looks to Endeavour, his last link with the pro-hero world, to give him anything to do to further the progress with taking down the Liberation.
Of course, just as things start to seem black and white again, Dabi throws a wrench in everything all over again, and Hawks is forced to re-evaluate who he feels he must be, and how that differs from who he actually is.

Draco can think of only one way to outclass his pleat-front-khaki-wearing politician ex, and that’s by making headlines with an obvious upgrade. And who better to upstage the cheating bastard than the Saviour of the World, Harry Potter himself? Sure, Potter is a little rough around the edges in ripped jeans, a rumpled tartan shirt, and a permanent scowl. Draco reckons a haircut and a shave wouldn’t hurt, either. But Potter is also in need of a Healer willing to keep his secrets, and Draco is just the man for the job. It’s a perfectly reasonable exchange. They need only attend a couple parties arm-in-arm, smile nicely for the paparazzi, and tolerate each other long enough to convince everyone they’re smitten. In return, Draco will keep Potter alive and in one piece.
But it isn’t long before Draco realises he might be in over his head, because Potter is ten tonnes of trouble packed into a leather jacket, and seems keen on hurtling himself towards death on the back of a flying motorbike. And that says nothing of Potter’s penchant for fire-breathing beasts and things that bite.
Ah well, at least they’ll have some fun while it lasts. After all, Draco always did like a bit of danger.

This follows the dialogue and events of Rebecca Yarros’s Fourth Wing, retold from Xaden’s perspective. This was written prior to the release of Iron Flame, so all theories and speculation are my own and unconfirmed. It's my best guess at exploring how Xaden might have felt throughout the story and features new scenes with Liam, Garrick, Imogen, Sgaeyl and Tairn. Major plot spoilers from the very first chapter.
