Obi-Wan is a criminal. He knows most people are afraid of him and he wouldn’t want it any different. It’s lonely on the top, but he was never into that stupid lovey-dovey shit some men are after anyway. That’s why he is still alive while most criminals of his caliber aren’t. Yet, the only man even close to his record of criminal deeds (and a bounty rivalling his) has proven to be too interesting to just get rid of him. Not that he hasn’t tried initially. Also, there is some other reason Obi-Wan just can’t bring himself to simply shoot the guy… again.

Summary
A mission brought Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan deep into the Outer Rim, where weapons of war were produced to attack republican frighters. Unfortunately, nothing went as planned and the explosion of a reactor caused chaos. In an attempt to protect his padawan, Qui-Gon tried to hide them but was hurt badly in the process. Far away from home, a medical station took them in for care until their eventual return. Obi-Wan, deeply shaken from his master's pain, took over the medical care. Tenday after tenday passed where they grew closer together until the point of no return.

Though the planet had been left by the Sith long ago, the remaining damage done to the Force remained and took its toll on the master both physically and mentally. He was sore and exhausted, which led his beloved padawan Obi-Wan to take care of his ailing master.
