Summary
Chainsaw Man — only this time, they’re fighting back against Makima.
This is the story of a forgotten deal, strange dreams, and an organization called A.M.E.N. (Anti-Makima Empowerment Network), revolving around Angel and Aki. It begins before the events of the anime and gradually diverges from the original story, leading to a completely different ending.
It is a deep dive into the psyches of Angel and Aki filled with angst, fluff and a lot of stupid decisions.

Aki has just learned he has two years to live. Two years to take back his life and get revenge on the Gun Devil for his family. Though, he has begun to view his future as more bleak than he initially believed. If he can't do it, then what was it all for? And if he can... what does he do next?
Angel has just been saved by Makima, the only memory prior to being saved is of him standing in the middle of corpses; surrounded by villagers he had supposedly killed. Despite Makima finding worth in him, he doesn't think he can ever be loved or love others. There's nothing else for him to be than a magnet for death.
The two are losing their themselves when they get paired together, will they be able to save each other from self destruction? Or will they lose themselves to hell?

Of course he wants to die.
He wants to die just as much as he wants to live. Just as he is now devil and human, just as Angel is both beautiful and monstrous. Aki swallows the smoke and it kills him a little, just as it makes life a little more liveable in return. That's how it's been for most of his life.
"That's not what this is about," he says simply, unable to explain it.
Alive, Aki has survived by selling away his heart. Alive, Angel's memories have come back along with guilt. They find solace and understanding in the only person who sees them for what they are.

When he had told Makima that the Angel Devil's powers would be a hindrance, he wasn't lying. While he appreciated Angel's presence at times, he himself was terrified of acting with his stomach, with the weak knees he can't explain the reason behind. To reach out and touch, bare, was an inexplicable problem.
Aki had gotten a taste of what it was like, and was left a starving man. He seemed to love being hungry, ergo, the feeling of wanting things until he's had his fill.
To get his fill meant death.

And, well, he doesn't run once he's outside. He wishes he did. Viktor grips the railing in front of him, wild-eyed and panicking. The door jostles behind him, because of-fucking-course it does, Jayce too curious and too much of an ass not to follow him. Never giving him any time to think by himself, his brain too big for his own head and spilling into everyone else's space.
“Leave me alone.” Viktor seethes, and he hopes his voice gets the sentiment across.
In typical Giopara fashion, Jayce doesn't. He steps outside and lets the door close behind him. The click of the door shutting should not be as damning as it feels.
Jayce cons Viktor into celebrating Progress Day with some drinks.
