Summary
Arrc is a recent graduate from the Tel Verath's magical academy, a firebrand prodigy whose adult life should have reaped discovery after discovery from his talent and keen insight... If he had not made the critical mistake of pissing off every single professor and established Archmage from his pride and ambition on the way. It has left him in a rather unfortunate position where he must try to submit a dissertation upon a novel understanding of magic to achieve the status of an Archmage himself, without any of the support, patronage, or resources that other prospective Archmages enjoy.
Not a problem for the forthright young jackal-man, however. There are plenty of areas of magic beyond the classics that the old fuddy-duddy magicians squat upon. With a bold plan, Arrc hunts down a powerful fae trickster in an attempt to make the beast his familiar, and thus acquire both a 'willing' advisor upon sylvan magic, as well as much needed helping hands, err, paws, for his own studies... What did he have to be worried about? It wasn't like he was trying to capture an ancient dragon, after all!
