Summary
After his proposal, she gladly followed Gale Dekarios to Waterdeep, happy to finally have what she never thought she would: a home that really was hers. That he so far had often been called upon to peform services for the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors just meant that he was part of the community. Accepted, trusted, wanted, needed. It was a good foundation for a new life.
There was still plenty of time to finish the work of reforging the Crown. Then, one night, he turned his back for a handful of heartbeats, just long enough to fetch the ring that he already should have given her. But it only took a moment for the shadows to lay claim to what their mistress declared to be hers.
Or, Gale's work on reforging the Crown of Karsus abruptly becomes a life-or-death situation when a follower of Shar abducts Tav and demands the Crown as ransom.
(Part Ten: Gales saves her, and she survives. Now comes the hardest part of all--living the rest of their lives. .)

Summary
He bent forward, lowering his voice into a grumbly murmur. “I happen to have a lovely tower with a splendid view of the harbor.”
“You are inviting me to your home?” I recoiled in surprise, sniffing as my tears dried.
He cleared his throat awkwardly, looking away. “Ah, is that perhaps a bit too forward?”
I shook my head, holding up my hands. “It is just that you do not know me very well.”
“But I would like to. Get to know you well, that is.”~~~
Four years after the events that led to the death of the elder brain- and the destruction of the Crown of Karsus- Gale accepted the offer to be a tenured professor at Blackstaff Academy. Both his former explosivity and his reputation as a hero of the Gate kept his students under control and the staff certain of his credibility. But when the new herbalist supplying the Academy finds him less than savory upon introduction, Gale attempts to fix his impression with varying degrees of success.

Summary
Gale only knew the Dekarios family’s history through old journals and family lore. But as a kid, his favorite journals were those written by his great-grandfather Gaius, a powerful war mage and member of the mysterious Arcane Brotherhood. Gale would stay up late, lost in his great-grandfather’s poetic words about the Weave, his epic battles, and adventures. But his favorite part of the journals were stories about the love of Gaius’s life, a beautiful sun elf named Ellandra. When he discovered that his former traveling companion was the same elf from his great-grandfather’s journal, he told her wanted to know everything.
Over the course of an evening, Gale and Ellandra read through Gaius’s old journals, with Ellandra providing additional context. She tells Gale about her life with Gaius through the destruction of the Host Tower of the Arcane in Luskan and the devastating Spellplague. Their family’s triumphs and struggles, and notably, the strong bond Ellandra shared with her step-son, Griffin, Gale’s maternal grandfather.
