Summary
The man in black seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, with an almost lethal wound and the most powerful healing ability she had ever seen. Granted, considering her total lack of memory, she hadn't seen all that many, but it was still impressive.
He appeared to be in great pain yet entirely indifferent to his own suffering. He didn't ask for help and declined the one she offered. He went into the worst case of shock she could imagine - to the point of being downright scary! - and then he didn't seem to care about it anymore.
He was very strange, and just as beautiful. That was an undeniable fact.
While in Belobog on a side mission for the Stellaron Hunters, Blade stumbles upon a quirky young woman in an alley. An unimportant event under most circumstances, something to be left behind and forgotten. A first encounter that wasn't supposed to happen.
But it did. And because of it, a new "script" begins to unravel.

Summary
Stelle looked around, trying to make sense of what had just happened. Lygus must have changed not only the setting but also the timeline. Years had passed since the first memories he showed her. But if that was the case, it was a scenario that shouldn’t have happened in reality. Aedes Elysiae had been destroyed long ago, according to what Phainon had told her. And yet, here they were, all three of them at the age they had — or should have had, in Cyrene’s case — in the real world.
So, given her current predicament, what kind of new fanfiction had Lygus thrown her into?
As Stelle is musing about Lygus' "interactive theater" moral implications, he gets the idea to tweak things a little, and let her experience something different. This is how she gets thrown into a possible scenario made from Phainon's wishes: one peaceful day in a world where there is no need for a Deliverer.

Stelle looked up from the cup to meet his gaze. With his hands clasped in his lap and his torso leaning toward her, he was giving her his full attention. And a spark of warmth ignited somewhere around her stomach.
"The monster that lives under the bed," she replied in a barely audible voice.
He tilted his head.
"...What?"
"The monster that lives under the bed," she repeated, more clearly this time.
Dan Heng frowned and rubbed his neck.
"It's the monster from a children's story, if I remember correctly."
Stelle nodded, taking another sip to gather her courage. Just talking about the creature made her shiver.
Reading scary stories before bed can have serious consequences. Stelle finds out the hard way when a terrifying nightmare wakes her up in the middle of the night. Now she's forced to run from the monster of her dreams. Things don't go exactly as she planned, though, and she ends up getting help from someone she wasn't expecting.

And she swears that in another reality, Dan Heng would have reached for her, wrapped her in his arms, his touch feather-light on her waist; he would have pressed a delicate kiss to her forehead, brushed the hair out of her face, buried his head in the crook of her neck; he would have whispered protective vows into her ear and told her that to him, she was the meaning of trailblazing . . .
Stelle loses her memories, and Dan Heng learns to love again.

Himeko is already at the table, a data pad balanced in one hand, the other absently stirring a cup that’s gone cold. Welt sits opposite her, eyes hidden behind glasses that reflect the passing light from the windows. March is trying too hard to sound cheerful. Pom-Pom scolds her for gesturing too wildly near the food tray. Trash Cake — their resident critter from Herta’s Space Station that Pom-Pom begrudgingly allowed to stay aboard — was pawing at the ribbons on March’s boots, completely enamoured by them.
It’s almost normal.
It’s not the same.Life aboard the Astral Express goes on — reports, repairs, the same hum of the engines that once carried their laughter. Dan Heng tells himself he’s fine. That peace means healing. That silence isn’t the same as loss.
He'd give everything to hear her voice just one last time.
