Summary
I just… I can’t let go of this major oversight in the ‘tension’ of the group. Andre gives Marie shit in the first episode and Jordan has this constant ‘she left me behind’ bullshit that irks me knowing how their story starts. I decided to give Marie a voice about it.

Jordan started to feel self-loathing build up.
Their DNA had done this.
Their genetics and mutation had put this being inside her. Had helped create an abomination that should not have been made.
They couldn’t be angry at the baby. It didn’t know what it was doing.
Just like Marie hadn’t.
When she killed her own parents as her powers were born.
And now they had created a being that killed her in return.
All the love they had for Marie.
All the care they put into the last several years of their life, the last year of nurturing both of them… gone.
All to be rinsed away on the floor and down the drain when the doctors decided there was nothing left to do and walked away.

Summary
We are just going to pretend that WAY more time happened between episodes. That we didn’t crash from one ‘holy shit’ moment to the next. I want to believe this fits [mostly] into cannon, but also is extra scenes to go with the fact we got NOWHERE near enough LiMoreau adorableness, relationship and sexiness fun. It also means that the last few episodes of S2 wouldn’t fit in this world, but fuck it.
So… thinking caps thrown away and critical thinking shut off. This is post Cipher-forced battle but also as if there were months between deciding to go rescue Cate and actually planning how to take action (oh, and they are far less foolish in not using more of the supes who had already shown loyalty and willingness for rebellion).

Summary
The second Shane hit the ice, Ilya knew something was wrong. Bood didn’t mean to hit him, it was a clean play and an even cleaner hit. A regular hockey hit. But the way Shane landed and slid into the boards, seeing the blood but not knowing where it was coming from, had Ilya’s heart stopping. Even now, almost three hours later, it didn’t feel like his heart had started again. He could hear Bood in the bed next to him asking him something, but all he could do was refresh the tab ‘shane hollander injury update’ and hope some news article somehow leaked information. He knew he didn’t actually want that to happen because Shane deserved privacy, but he was dying inside not knowing if his boyfriend was okay.

All Shane knew was he was in pain, the medication wasn’t masking it, and he needed Ilya. His parents were both in the room, as was Hayden, doing their best to figure out how to get ‘ily to the hospital.
OR
what if instead of montreal/boston shane got hurt in ottawa/montreal but no one knows they’re together & Irina foundation doesn’t exist yet & what if the injury was just a little bit worse? (not entirely canon timeline)

“Did we win the game? Why is Il— Rozanov here?” Shane croaks, confusion written plainly on his face. One of his arms is in a sling. He shifts and winces, his good hand hovering idly over his stomach, then pressing into his eyes. He’s aching all over, this sudden feeling of wrong, wrong, wrong engulfing his entire body.
“What happened?” he asks, more alert now, “Where am I?”
Hayden just looks at him, shock and heartbreak written all over his face.
Or, post-marleau’s hit, shane ends up in the hospital. he ends up with a broken collarbone, concussion and a devastating loss he’d never anticipated.
