Summary
Arthur Pendragon is at an all-time low: he's still suffering from the day he nearly dueled his father to the death, his sword arm has been wounded so grievously he may never fight again, and, worst of all, every last soul in Camelot and the kingdoms beyond have had magic forced on them overnight. Now Arthur must contend with the chaos of magic run rampant, his father's dangerous instability, Morgana's increasing distance, catching Merlin in more lies than he can count, and the magic that is now threatening to consume him—all while searching for a way to break the curse before it consumes them all.
It's not going to be easy: Arthur grapples with a destiny he's not sure he can handle, and a past he'd rather forget—and if he wants to save his people, he must be prepared to confront hard truths and harder choices. God the wirting is just SO GOOD. It explore so many ideas about internalized hatred and Arthur's ideas with corruption and how his father actually got corrupted by magic etc etc. Even the Morgana part is genuinely incredible. Every emotion felt by every character is so logical, like it makes perfect sense why they feel that way, PLUS the author has described and explained every emotion SO SO WELL. I don't think I've enough words to explain why this fic has been so incredible. I just think that every single event that has occurred in this fic so far has depicted various aspects of magic-hatred, self-hatred, self-blame, and ofc mistakes that canon Merlin made. It's just so good and I'm on the 5th chpt so far.

When Merlin falls into bed with Arthur, he doesn't expect for to wake up alone. He doesn't expect Arthur to give him the cold shoulder either, but there is something else he expects even less which forces him out of the kingdom for over a year. He returns to find a traitor in the court, an army on the way, and a love he'd thought all but lost waiting for him with open arms.

Summary
Merlin can’t remember the last time he’s locked his bedroom door, if ever. But he chooses not to think about it. He merely sulks his way back to his bed, taking a moment to contemplate taking off his trousers and tunic from the night before. He decides not to think about that either.
Instead, he decides not to think at all. He just falls back into his bed, covers up his body more so in shame than for warmth, and closes his eyes.
Basically Merlin is sexually assaulted and this story follows how he and everyone else deals with it.
Spoiler alert: THEY DON'T HANDLE IT WELL.
