Harrow felt her brain starting to form questions, half of which she never would have dreamed of speaking aloud to him, but before she could say anything particularly blasphemous a noise stopped her. The noise was shortly followed by a very empathetic declaration of:

Gideon Nav is alive, resurrected by the King Undying, and she's having a hell of a time.
From a now embarrassingly protective Harrow, to her newly gained powers, to a Ninth House repopulated, shit is going down. With her sword, her wits, and her deeply buried feelings, she fights to keep this new life long enough to ensure her adept is safe. But Harrow's talking to herself, the Emperor is lying to them, and Gideon keeps fumbling every chance at a real conversation with the girl she died for.
Worst of all, the River is calling her back, and she doesn't know how long she can stay afloat.

Summary
The crazy thing is that Harrow doesn’t even like her, the occasional blip at the sacred pool notwithstanding. Gideon dies for her – a stupid ordeal all around, the least said about it the better – and resigns herself to the Underworld, and that’s supposed to be that, right? Harrow isn’t supposed to come after her. Not till she dies herself, and Gideon is hoping that’s a long way off for a lot of reasons. She deserves at least a few decades without Harrow, after what that woman put her through.
But come she does, with her stupid furrowed brows and haughty chin and clomping step. With sculptor’s fingers and artist’s eyes and that same old obnoxious confidence in her own brilliance. Harrow bulldozes her way to to the Underworld and stands before the throne of the God of the Dead, running on the fumes of her own manic determination, and demands Gideon back.
And the Lord of the Underworld, John Gaius himself, says, “Wow. Let me think about that.”

Gideon tries not to think too much these days. She wants to focus on fighting this war, not the weird side effects of perfect Lyctorhood or the fact that Harrow can barely seem to be in the same room with her or that everyone keeps treating her like a bomb about to go off. It's going pretty well, if you ask her. Until she gets herself hurt protecting her useless necro, again, and Harrow's reaction does not fill her with warm, fuzzy feelings.

“You’ll get it back." Harrow kissed the broken skin of Gideon’s lower lip, pressed it between her teeth.
