Summary
When the firefighter walks into Eddie's coffeeshop, Eddie immediately knows two things about him: he's not human, and he's the love of Eddie's life.
Oh, he knows a bunch of other things too, obviously. He's about thirty, a few months younger than Eddie himself. He has a scar on his throat, like he got stabbed there, and one of his legs has some metal rods in it that must have come from a bad injury. The guy doesn't know he's not human, which is a tricky thing to figure out, but Eddie's almost positive. Most of the non-humans he knows have always known they aren't people, but there are exceptions, and they tend to carry themselves differently. Ana before her first full moon as a werewolf had a very different vibe from Ana after.
The firefighter moves like he knows he doesn't belong, but not like he knows why. Like he's afraid of taking up space, afraid of being noticed.
As if Eddie is even capable of not noticing him.

Summary
It all starts with the coffee maker.
To be more precise, it starts with Buck realizing he’s maddeningly in love with Eddie, but that is not the problem in and of itself. The problem is that Buck realizes that he’s maddeningly in love with Eddie and then, as if the revelation wasn't enough of a thing to turn Buck’s world on its head, his magic starts sputtering and cluttering and stuttering all over the place.

Buck really should have paid attention to the clock. Before Buck can think about how to get himself out of this one, Eddie appears in the doorway. Buck sees his eyes darken and the way he clenches his jaw.
“Buck.” Eddie’s voice is so neutral and controlled. Oh, Buck has royally fucked up.
“I— um.” Buck swallows, his mouth awfully dry as he tries to come up with some explanation for his insubordination. He could say it was an accident. He, uh, tripped? He can see Eddie already tenting in his trousers, so he can’t be in too much trouble, right?
“Did I say to stop?” Eddie questions.
Or the boys get a new dildo, and Buck can't wait to use it, literally. Eddie comes home and deals with his misbehaviour.

“Hey there sweetheart,” Buck says softly to the baby as he adjusts his grip so that she’s resting against his chest. “You’re okay. We’ve got you now.”
The screaming seems to die down the smallest amount.
“I know you’re scared, and you’re probably really confused, huh?” Buck walks her around in a small circle in front of the baby box, bouncing her ever so slightly. “Don’t you worry though, you’re safe here with us. And we’re gonna get you somewhere even safer once the nice DCFS people show up.”
The screaming ever so slowly comes to an almost full stop, little whimpers still escaping her tiny body every now and then.
“That’s it,” Buck encourages her with a smile. “You’re being so brave. Look at you go!”

In other words, things are definitely on course to blow up like a former-perfume factory on fire.
