Merlin has waited centuries for Arthur's return, watching countless wars begin and end without even a hint of him. Though Merlin closes himself off at first, content on living alone, when magical artifacts begin to resurface, he puts himself back out into the world to make sure these stay safe and out of the wrong hands. Who knew discovering Excalibur again would have such a chain reaction?
