Summary
The cracking of a broken nose splashes gore across knuckles and face, and Yelena stands bloodied as the limp body drops to the floor.
Kate breathes less hard, still wheezing slightly, bow held loosely in her hand. Yelena looks over her shoulder, eyes near feral, glinting pure wrath in the streetlamp glow from outside. Her stance does not relax, alert and watchful, as she casts her gaze over the crumpled archer.
It is, definitely, a touch embarrassing for Kate.
Yelena moves over, all long strides and twitching jaw, and in her dark tactical suit with blood across her fingers and cheekbone she looks every part the elite killer she was trained to be. She kneels beside Kate, who groans and attempts to stand, slumping sideways as she rolls over and forces her hands underneath her.
It’s all very graceful, really.

Secretly, Kate wonders if America is really that much of an asshole, or if she would maybe take her more seriously if she wasn’t basically being held together by bandages and surgical tape. She also wonders if she’s actually the asshole here, or if Kate is the one at fault. She has a sinking suspicion that it might be the latter, but that just makes a bitter taste flood her mouth, so she resolves that it might be better not to think too hard about that one, lest she develops some sort of ridiculous feelings along the line of regret or wanting to make it up to her.
