They had ordered their food, coffee mugs steaming in front of them, but still sitting untouched. The air was thick between them, filled with tension pulled as taut as a rubber band.
“Good.” Stratt’s eyes were hard, face cold as a stone, but Grace was pretty sure he saw her lips twitch, like she was thinking about smiling. Maybe.
Expectedly, she did not.

Rocky can’t realize something’s quickly approaching them until it’s far too late.

Set hundreds of years after the end of the book, a case of wrong-place/wrong-time leads Rocky to a catch a glimpse of what and who might be waiting for them beyond.
