Summary
Control. What is life if not a constant battle for control?
So obviously, Parker needs control. But not just over power. When she can't have control over power, she has control over how much she eats; it's not the weight, it's just the principle of the thing, really. Over the pain she feels; raking her nails up and down her arm doesn't do damage, but it makes her feel, and that's what matters. Over who she is and how she reacts and what her environment is like.
Naturally, this causes some concern among Hardison.
On Parker, and learning the difference between of what she can, and what she should, be in control.

He tangles one hand in his hair, trying to remember the script. He's supposed to tell her that they'll talk later—just as soon as the weather improves, just as soon as Gale's condition is stable—and that the world will wait for them until then.

This series is so amazing in the way it manages to weave great insights into canon through altered events, and how it shows the strength of Rumbelle's relationship in both the good times and bad. The Mr. Gold character is SOOO well done, and all of it was so intense and riveting that I started it when I should have been going to bed and stayed up through the next morning to finish it. Really, one of the best AU Seasons I've read!
