“We’re here, we’re-” Will breathes out, starting to push himself upright. Mike’s hands land on his shoulders, firm enough to stop him.
“Don’t,” Mike says quickly. “Don’t stand. We need to splint your ankle.” His thumb moves in slow, absent circles against Will’s shoulder, grounding him.
“El will find us,” Mike adds, forcing steadiness into his voice. “We’ll be okay.”
Will nods, but he catches the way Mike’s gaze flicks to the floor before meeting his eyes again - the slight tremor in his hands that gives him away.

He takes a deep breath.
“I want him the way I should have wanted Jane.”
Max is quiet, when he finally manages to look at her again. Her brows draw together slightly, pausing.
“But,” she whispers, in the space between them. “Will is a boy.”
Mike feels new tears well up behind his lids.
“Max.”
Something shifts in her expression, her mouth parting slightly.
“Oh.”
It’s quiet. Mike’s mouth pulls itself into a bitter smile. “Yeah, oh.”
or, it’s summer ‘90, and while everyone is off to college, Mike and Max scoop up ice cream in the rebuilt Starcourt Mall, reluctantly bonding over their shared hatred for children (and Mike’s little sister and idle friends) who just can’t seem to leave them alone.

The Party is staying at Camp Hellfire over fall break to help their older siblings and a so-called team of experts clean the camp up in time for its grand reopening. Even with the truly odd jobs and the questionable company, the Party tries to make the best of it. Strange and frightening occurrences prevent that and make them realize that someone is messing with them— is it a harmless Halloween prank? Or is there something more malevolent hidden in the shadows of Camp Hellfire? When Mike finds himself in mortal danger, he realizes something surprising about his feelings for Will.
Well, he always did work best under pressure.

Summary
El was never close to Steve Harrington. She's heard a few stories about him being an asshat when he was in high school, but she's never seen him be anything but nice to her friends. It makes her confused, but since her dad can be wary of him at times, she is too.
However, when he shows up at the cabin in the freezing cold dead-of-night, El makes the decision to help him, and it might just be one of the best decisions she makes (besides saving the world).
