=There are a lot of patterns in the Life Series, but my absolute favorite is Joel's complicated relationship with fire. They have a long history, and always seem to be connected in some way. This is a retelling of Joel's time in the life games that focuses heavily on his interactions with fire, how it relates to his personality while in the games, and some lovely angst thrown in as well because there just isn't enough Joel angst on this website.
