What if Alhaitham was a bird/Vulture/snake/mythical creature of a cryptid, and was monitored by a sort of SCP Foundation? Watch Kaveh deal with this whole mess too!

  3. Summary

    Alhaitham.
I won’t say my dear, my dearest or my love, or any other sweet names you don’t deserve. You never call me those anyway. But it doesn’t matter.

Because this is goodbye. You won't see me for a while.

The newly reinstated Scribe- not Acting Grand Sage anymore- with the biggest salary any Scribe as ever gained- finally free from all the pompous titles saving a nation bestow upon you- Alhaitham, just freshly clocked-out for the day, already has enough of this bullshit.

He might have neglected Kaveh for a bit. True. But who could judge him? Do you know how many books he missed on while being the Acting Grand Sage?

Anyway, from the unprecedented dramatics in this one greeting and first four sentences of a five-page letter, he hopes not all of Sumeru is involved in their lover’s spat.

    Summary

Being possessive was not something Kaveh ever felt comfortable with. He loved and trusted Alhaitham so deeply to even begin to put it into words, yet that didn’t stop the burning sensation taking root in his chest. It wasn’t even about Alhaitham—his demeanor was, more or less, the same as always.

    It was her.

Because she was standing just a little too close to what was his.

And, well, he didn’t like it.

    or

Alhaitham’s apprentice has a crush on him—a fact that made Kaveh lose his mind. Just a little.

    Summary

“Math?” And a published academic journal, at that?

“Yes.” Ratio returns the book to his bag, carrying on, but Aventurine’s stuck on the fact that this is apparently what he does in his free time outside of composing music.

“…I thought you were a pianist.”

    “I am a pianist.”

“But– math?” Even Aventurine doesn’t spend that much time thinking about math, and he spends twelve hours a day staring at financial models.

“Does it not occur to you that it's possible to have more than one interest?”

Aventurine lives the same week on repeat: eighty hours of his soul-sucking high finance job, then two nights of dancing off the stress to the beat of his favorite anonymous DJ. His move into a luxury apartment building brings him next door to Ratio, an esteemed classical composer with a love for piano. Eager to make a good impression, Aventurine keeps his clubbing habit under wraps — but he’s not the only one hiding secrets under strobe lights.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Aaaaaaaah ;-; I’m dying over the Ratio characterization in this one! He’s perfectly adorable and relatable and so human, I love it!
And genuinely some great plot structure and callbacks too! It feels like not a single detail is wasted, and it all wraps up nicely!
I like that we completely stick with the same POV throughout, but yet completely understand Ratio’s POV despite the distorted lens of Aventurine’s POV!
And it’s actually so impressive to keep this story so entertaining when the audience knows the “twist” (aka Ratio being Aventurine’s idol), really impressive use of dramatic irony!
Other than that… yep, some parts are wayyy too relatable, got me to tear up :’) thanks for the catharsis!

    Summary

This was the third time, now, and that did not bode well for Purson at all.
Once was unfortunate. Twice was a coincidence.
But three times? Three times indicated a pattern. Purson did not want there to be a pattern. He hadn’t wanted for there to be coincidence or misfortune, either, come to think of it.
And yet, here they were. At a pattern.
    Devidamnit.

Or: 5 times Purson has to watch people kiss right in front of him, and 1 time he finally snaps.

    Summary

    “Fuck,” Kaveh breathes.

“What? What happened?” Nilou turns—peeking over his shoulder and letting out a small “oh” before gently patting his back.

“What’s wrong?” Dehya asks. Kaveh wordlessly hands her his phone and drops his head in his hands.

“I’m never playing truth or dare again.”

“Well, I mean. It’s not that bad,” he hears Dehya say, unsure. “You mentioned you were drunk. You’ve done plenty of dumb shit while drunk. You took this dare while drunk.”

“Most of that dumb shit, Al-Haitham witnessed with his own eyes too,” Tighnari adds.

Kaveh glares at Tighnari. Tighnari smiles and shrugs.

    (Kaveh confesses. Sort of.)
