Summary
“Your father worries about you.”
That was about the only thing he could tell him. And it was the truth.
“But I’m not sick anymore!” Heinrich cried out, tossing the wooden figurines onto the blankets and burrowing his face underneath them.
“Birdie…” Henry tried to coo at him, but Heinrich was having none of it, just like his father.
“No! Leave me be!”
He exhaled deeply and shot a very apologetic look towards Jitka.
She looked so unimpressed with him he too wanted to hide beneath the furs and not come out ever again. Regrettably, that didn’t seem to be an option.

Hans tries very hard to be a good father. Maybe a little too hard. Lady Jitka is getting desperate and so is little Heinrich, therefore it’s up to Henry to try and fix it. Even as the young knight also finds himself in a peculiar situation regarding fatherhood. -

For his relatively short life, Henry has encountered enough tragedy. As a nurse, he was prepared for it – trained, even – and always carried it with strength, compassion and healthy distance. As a person, he struggled with it deeply.
A year ago, he thought his life had ended. Six months ago, Hans came into his life and started gathering all his broken pieces, putting them back together bit by bit.
And now, in their new shared apartment, he’s supposed to finally turn a new leaf. Except he can’t.
Because not all wounds heal the way they should. Because just loving someone is enough – until it isn’t. And because when he’s losing himself, he’s losing everything else as well.

A story where Henry and Hans love each other deeply, but their happily-ever-after is still a long way ahead. And if they want to chase it down, they’ll have to leave something behind.

Děj se odehrává na Suchdolské tvrzi po získání Prstu božího a zajetí Otto von Bergova po útoku na Malešov.
Jan Ptáček (Hans Capon) se trápí, nevyzná se ve svých pocitech, ničí jej vzpomínky na události uplynulých týdnů, a zároveň přichází do konfliktu se Samuelem. Začíná si velmi pomalu připouštět, že mezi ním a Jindrou je možná víc než jen přátelské pouto, a také má strach, že to tak cítí pouze on sám.
