    Summary

The crack of his kneecaps meeting the hardwood is deafening. Alastor's eyes widen—as if he's surprised Vincent actually followed his unspoken suggestion—before he gets ahold of himself and his shocked expression eases back into faux disinterest.

At least Vincent hopes it's fake. He's not sure what he's done but he can fix it. He can't stand Alastor being upset with him. He'll do whatever is necessary for Alastor to forgive him, to tolerate his presence again.

Vincent refuses to be kicked out like a misbehaving dog. He is a good boy.

    —

Or: After a long day of murder and mayhem Alastor wants somewhere to rest his feet. Vincent gladly steps up, or rather kneels down.

    Summary

This story is a modern political alternate universe in which Vincent Whittman is a conservative politician elected into office as a legacy candidate following his father. A gruesome murder occurs in New Orleans that catches the attention of a cozy true crime podcaster Alastor Dupré, who actively blames the murder on Whittman and his team. What happens when a loud-mouthed politician pokes one too many bears and upsets a man who’s willing to go quite far to speak against his name? Find out in All These Engagements!

The title of the fic comes from the song "All These Engagements" by The Airborne Toxic Event.

This fic includes a Spotify playlist, which will be updated with each chapter release!

    Summary

“The city speaks, dear listeners. Just not always loudly enough for those who aren’t paying attention.”

Vincent Whitman has always known how to listen.

What begins as curiosity becomes something far more dangerous. After all, some people are meant to be understood. Others are meant to be chased.
    -

Sent to New Orleans in pursuit of a story, Vincent expects something he can control, shape, and serve back to America on a silver platter.

Instead, he finds Alastor, who picks apart every thread of the mask Vincent has spent his life constructing, leaving him exposed, filthy, and raw.
And for reasons Vincent refuses to explain… he finds himself liking it.

    Summary

“Go play, Duckie. I know you want to.”

Lilith had whispered as she kissed his brow before turning back to their bed and the plethora of reaching hands there. She tossed a coquettish smirk back at Lucifer, before lowering herself down into the throng of sinners that had served as the night’s entertainment for them both. It was tempting to join her, but the missive in his hand beckoned to his curious mind. A cataclysmic event was on the horizon in the mortal realm. One last chance to witness the thriving city of Pompeii and all of its marvels. A singular chance to watch the world burn. Who could resist?

It is Summer of 79 AD, and Lucifer receives a missive from Heaven warning of impending doom in the mortal realm. He takes the opportunity to go live amongst the humans and finds himself utterly fascinated with a particular showman with a darkened soul. It is forbidden to interfere with human destinies, but maybe he can bend the rules just a tad.
