    “Good evening Mr Captain America Rogers, sir,” Peter replied and Mr Stark let out a guffaw, “God kid, you’re hilarious."
    “I don’t know about the rest of you but if the kid calls me Mr Hawkeye or Mr Hawkeye Barton even once I’ll lock him in an empty room and set Fury on him,” Hawkeye said, “If you really don’t want to call me Clint, kid, call me Hawkeye.” Peter just nodded, his throat was way too blocked up to speak and there was a stinging sensation behind his eyes.

    Sometime 6 months later, Peter hasn’t spoken to Tony Stark since and he wasn’t planning to ever again, that was until Mr Harrington’s announcement. But that wasn’t even the worst of it.
    “I'm sorry, what? I think I misheard you, Mr Harrington."
    “You heard me correctly, Mr Parker,” said Mr Harrington, gravely, “You’ve been banned from Avengers Tower.”

Sometimes, in some universes, he gets lucky, and everything goes smoothly, but for the most part, it doesn't matter which version of Peter it is facing them down. The fact of the matter is that Peter is unlucky in most universes, and so is Spider Man.

    "Please come in." Miss Potts smiled. She didn't look like someone who was about to sue you for thousands of dollars. Maybe he needed to stop assuming things about people, Peter thought when he discovered with horror Tony Stark, sitting in an expensive rotating chair, turning his back to them, looking at New York, the city expanding for miles and miles.

    Under other circumstances, Peter would have loved to meet the man, he realized now that he was sitting in front of the genius, cheeks red with embarrassment. He wished he could ask him questions, he wished he could understand who he was when he wasn't in his 'Tony Stark attitude.' Because Peter was sure, the man was not the narcissistic he showed to the world. Not when he had almost died protecting New York from aliens.
    Some people said he was only trying to save his own butt -his father said that- but Peter didn't believe so.

    Or, Peter never had a good relationship with his family, and probably never would. His father was too mean, too violent, a racist, a drinker, the first to hate mutant people, and never the last to raise his hand on his son. All Peter ever wanted was to get away. So when Tony Stark offers him an internship, Peter jumps on the occasion.
