Phainon looks at him for a moment. He takes a slow sip of his coffee, no longer steaming and fogging his glasses, then offers him a timid smile afterwards. “You can trust me, Mydei.”
“I do,” Mydei ends up saying.
His roommate sits back and laughs, not quite believing it yet. “Did you at least miss me?” he asks suddenly, tilting his head. Just like that, the strange tension dissipates.
My hole was pulsing to the thought of your name. Mydei takes a long, pointed bite of his toast to avoid replying.
Phainon’s grin sharpens into a boyish smirk. “Yeah. Thought so.”
On paper and in his daily life, Mydei pretends to be a beta. It wouldn’t have been any trouble, if only he isn’t attracted to his alpha roommate.

“I thought you hated me, Mydeimos—” Phainon whispered like a confession, and Mydei's lips pulled into a frown, eyebrows furrowing.
Phainon's fingers tightened on Mydei’s hips, his touch bruising. “I thought you despised me, but… You were actually just hoping I'd finally snap? So I'd... Make you submit to me?” Phainon's voice dropped to a low growl, and Mydei shuddered beneath him.
“Mhm,” Mydei acquiesced with a nod, smiling in an ingratiating manner that made Phainon feel hot all over.
Phainon has been agonizing over his tumultuous relationship with his new roommate for weeks, now. His roommate-- who cooks for him, does his laundry, and scolds him for his unhealthy habits. Why does he care so much, anyways?

Phainon’s voice would sooner break into something dark and shaking, his control shredded. “…You really want that, Mydei? Then say it again. Look me in the eyes and tell me you want all of me, because once I give in… I won’t be able to stop.”
Mydei does exactly that, his hand clamps around the fine hairs as goosebumps rise on his lover’s nape, fingers digging in just enough to pull him down impossibly close into the thick cloud of his overwhelming scent. Phainon drowns in that scent flooding his head, stripping away whatever scraps of reasoning he had left.
“I want you,” he whimpered, “Every bit of you... fill me... pump your children in me, Deliverer... make me yours.”
In which, the noble alpha’s rut called to him like a moth to a flame, and Mydei didn’t hesitate to show up. He came, dripping and needy, hands and mouth following instinct, ready to be used, stuffed, and utterly claimed, every inch aching to carry the alpha’s seed.

Mydei lifts his head enough to stare incredulously at Phainon behind the curtain of his ruffled hair. "No.”
When Phainon thinks of Mydei, the first thing that usually comes to mind is: Wow, he’s so hot.
But that thought is always—always—followed by a flash of irritation, especially when the memory of the preparations for the campus-wide debate competition is still so fresh in his mind. Phainon still hadn’t quite recovered from the weeks of battle it took to get the event going.
So really—never in a million years did Phainon think he’d wake up in bed with Mydei.

“Still this problem won’t go away, Mydei,” Hyacine implores with gentle insistence. She starts twirling her pen around, lost in thought. “What about a relationship that isn’t an omega?”
