Summary
Besides, his face is so much better in life. The crinkle in his eyes when he laughs. The way his lips twitch when he’s trying to suppress his laughter at important meetings when someone’s made a comment they shouldn’t have. His hands when they’re against his back. Warm and full of life and love and support. His long hair that cascades down his back, impossibly straight. That never tangles and feels like silk between his fingers. His pout when he thinks that Madara is perhaps being a bit too unfair.
Perhaps Madara is a bit biased on that. Perhaps he has some personal claim.
Madara plans the perfect birthday. The perfect day. And asks him to spend the rest of his life like this.

Summary
Sometimes it feels impossible to compare the Q described in Starfleet records to the one that pops on and off the ship at his own leisure. It really shouldn’t be, especially given that Jean-Luc has provided almost all the information, but reading Q’s description on paper is vastly different to enduring his presence.
For example, Q’s file now states that he is averse to touch with physical beings. Words that Jean-Luc himself wrote stare back at him from the screen, but he cannot bring himself to believe them.
Jean-Luc can recall a hundred casual touches: a mouth next to his temple, an arm around his shoulder, a finger tracing his ear, a hand reaching for his across his desk. These were not the behaviours of a touch-averse creature.

But when he does, if he does, well—he considers it part and parcel of Garak, that's all. Disconcerting at first, a little invasive. Awfully close to a line but not quite crossing it, and leaving Julian with absolutely no idea what he's meant to do in response. Garak in microcosm, summarized in a single unexpected gesture.
(Or: Julian has always thought Garak just had a weird little habit. Until another Cardassian does the same thing to him, and seems to imbue the gesture with a meaning Julian really had not anticipated.)

Summary
Marco had lived through five lives, each vastly different from each other, in experiences and people. But the only thing that remained out of those lives were him. They left and he stayed, only to be re-born again into a new life.
But when he got reincarnated into his sixth, the island he woke up to, the wanted posters and newspapers headlines, the pirates... they were all too familiar. Far too familiar that he cursed fate with more than just a string of colourful words. He stayed away from it all, piracy and sailing alike, but fate never did appreciate his cursing.

Naked and almost small looking curled up as he was, Shinji sat still as a statue where Aizen had left him, a relic among his many collected treasures. Aizen was reminded of the pharaoh’s of the ancient transient world who had their likenesses carved into solid stone, convinced that their legacy would be as eternal as the rock. But all things fade with time, even the words and deeds of powerful men. Shinji, Aizen knew, would be one of them. His suspicious words, though powerful, would fade away like the pharaoh and be forgotten in his death. His actions, though immutable, would eventually fade into nothingness, stripped away like wind on rock by the ever-turning wheel of time.
