So shiny that Will can see himself, tipsy and happy, in the reflection. “I want to be stuck with you,” Mike whispers, like it’s a secret. “I don’t ever want to leave.”
Will sucks in a sharp breath, squeezing his hands. “Then don’t,” he whispers back, punched-out and honest. “Stay.”

Summary
She says there is nothing in there: only a complete emptiness, with no Will, no voices, no sight; nothing. One erased everything he could, leaving Will's mind with absolutely nothing.
Well, Mike isn't having it. He is a stubborn bastard, and he never gives up, especially when it comes to Will. Time and time again, he has stuck by his loyalties: when everyone thought Will was dead, he kept looking; when Will began having his episodes, Mike was there to comfort him; when Will became possessed, Mike stayed and pulled him back to them. Yes, 1985 and 1986 were years where he was a shitty friend and left Will ignored because of his own stupidity, but he wants to fix his mistakes— perhaps he can start like this.
Or
After the last battle against One, Will is left with no memories and no emotions, leaving it up to his friends and family to bring him back. Mike takes it upon himself to be the one who does it as he struggles with Will's last words to him.

Then, softly, Will said, “There’s something about that church. I’ve read about it before. It was part of Henry’s file. An exorcism or… at least an attempt at one. Owens didn’t want us looking into it.”
Mike’s eyes flicked towards Will, hope blooming behind them.
“You think.. We can go there?”
Will nodded slowly, “Tomorrow night. Just us.”
Mike shivered, but it surely wasn’t from the cold. For the first time in what felt like months he felt alert, aware, and strangely alive.
Maybe he could find the answers he was looking for in that church. Or maybe he was falling right into Vecna’s hands. He couldn’t bring himself to care much.

“How did I what?” Will swivels his head toward Mike, who’s looking back at him expectantly over the top of his comic book. He’s got on that thinking-face he does— the one that tells Will that Mike has definitely been staring at him for the past ten minutes minimum, trying to wrap his brain around some idea or another, like he’s working out a particularly difficult puzzle.
“Like, what do you like about them? Oh, come on, don’t look at me like that,” he complains, and Will assumes he must be making a face somewhere between skeptical and bewildered. “We never talk about it. Why is it boys for you?”

He startled, shaking his head as if he had woken up from sleeping all of a sudden. His eyes were still heavy and his words were still slurred when he said, “Mm, I’m… I’m okay.”
Another beat of silence. Then,

Mike and Will's relationship has been secret for 2 months. Neither of them want to bring it up, but things build and build until it becomes more of a burden than just a little mutual understanding. Will's growing up (and getting drunk) and it's impossible for Mike to stay in the same place forever, with words always on the tip of his tongue.
