This year, the winter has been unusually cruel and his skin, pulled taut over fragile bones and green veins, is dry and cracked, kind of like Ryuusei’s throat, kind of like Ryuusei’s resolve to not reach out with his own cold-bitten hands and share the warmth bubbling inside him.

Isagi’s eyes never got dark and clouded with alcohol, never stared at Kaiser with pure disgust. Isagi’s never wrapped hands around his neck, never made him shiver in fear or beg for his own life, limbs flailing- he never called him trash, worthless, pathetic.
There were so many other things to feel besides resentment.
That’s why the envelope in his hands means nothing.

Rin doesn’t delete the message. He replays the message when folding paper planes and launching them into the air from his balcony. Isagi’s voice isn’t the worst soundtrack in the world.

“What do you want?” barks Rin, charming as ever, through the intercom.
“It’s me,” says Shidou, “I’m here for my shit,” and then, because Rin doesn’t answer, “you told me to come?”
Rin still doesn’t deign to respond, but he buzzes him up. Shidou is seething. This, he promises himself, is the last goddamn straw. He’s a human being, for god’s sake, not Itoshi Rin’s chew toy. He is not letting him and his crazy demon magic anywhere near his penis. Today, he chooses dignity.
Shidou didn't exactly plan to start sleeping with Rin. He also didn't plan to catch feelings, but hey, here he is anyway. It sort of starts with a toothbrush.

“Alright,” Isagi gave in, earning a small smile in response. He did trust Nagi, knew him since college and even played football with him during the weekends. Nagi wasn’t a liar nor did he say things he didn’t mean.
Nagi called Rin with a yell, seeing that the shop was empty and no clients would be bothered by the fuss. When he turned around he closed the portfolio, “Er, let me warn you though, Rin is still learning to interact with the customers…”

When Shidou finds out Reo can copy Sae, Nagi is less than thrilled at him stealing his partner. Nagi pines and Reo doesn’t get it, they both suck at communicating, and Shidou is the world’s worst and most twisted wingman, but Nagi and Reo still somehow find their way back to each other.
