Summary
He looks around the room, immediately picking up a candlestick holder as a weapon, before walking slowly toward the noise.
The knocking intensifies as he rounds the corner, and—
“Hell no,” Steve says and begins to turn around. It’s over. It’s supposed to be over.
The banging gets louder, more frantic, and now that Steve knows, he can hear his voice, too. “Steve Harrington, don’t leave me outside like this.”
“Nope,” Steve shakes his head. “Absolutely not. This is not real.”

Steve inhaled the cold air, letting it curl around his lungs that seemed to twist with his guilt and his pain.
"Henderson deserves to know," Steve muttered to the shadows, blinking sadly
The shadows blinked back.
Eddie sighed, his pain just as evident as Steve's.
"I know."
Like a broken record.

“Steve, I’ve solved your problem.”
“Huh?”
“I’ve found your dreamboat. Your perfect match, your other half- fits your type to a t. Literally right now, you could walk over and proposition this person to bear your six offspring and sail off into the sunset together in a shitty RV.”
Steve blinks at her bemusedly, and then she points out beyond the pool- where Eddie Munson sits in the grass, smiling lazily as El and little Holly Wheeler adorn him in daisy chains, giggling as he bows to each of them, adjusting his flowery crown.
Steve groans, face in his palms.
“Yeah,” he laughs dryly, “if only Eddie was a chick, huh?”

Goofy hat, tall socks. A bow around his neck that Eddie has a brief flash of what it might be like to yank on. Just a little.
Or: Somebody's gotta deliver the ice cream to Scoops Ahoy, and that somebody is Eddie.

"I just want a friend."
The wolf stays where he’s at and for a moment Eddie feels extremely stupid for trying to communicate with an animal but then the wolf stands up- and woah he’s way bigger up close.
Eddie watches as the wolf steps closer and giggles at the wet cold feeling of his snout sniffing at his hand. He brings it up to pet through the wolf’s unbelievably soft fur and marvels at the glisten of the golden-like color even in the moonlight. “You do too, huh?” Eddie giggles, scratching behind the wolf’s ear as he sniffs at Eddie’s face. “I think I’m gonna’ call you Ozzy.”
Ozzy huffs and Eddie laughs.
“Yeah. Ozzy suits you perfectly.”

Steve pivoted back to his original demand. “You can’t tell anyone.” Munson scoffed. “I mean it. You cannot tell anyone about this.”

In a last-ditch attempt to live and create a new leader for their hive mind, the vines in the tunnel released a (probably) toxic goop right into Steve’s face. Getting powers from the Upside Down was the cherry on the shit sundae Steve had been served since Halloween.
All he wanted to do was graduate in peace, left alone to lick his wounds and mourn the loss of his relationship with Nancy and the loss of his popularity in private. It turns out the Spring of ‘85 might be when he finally finds a family, real friends, and a very unexpected romance.

Summary
Steve just wants to get the fuck out of this place, this party, this fucking…bullshit life he’s found himself in. He’s not at his best, under-fucking-standadably, so when the drunk-ass Halloween masses push and shove and giggle as they lock him in an upstairs bedroom for—oh god, Seven Minutes In Heaven, what are they, goddamn twelve—he’s going to fucking scream, he—
“Not quite what you were expecting behind Door Number One?”
Steve spins, a little jump in it when he looks for the source of the voice which sounds familiar and then also, not, because Steve thinks he should know a voice like that, because it’s a good voice, a really good voice, it’s not too deep but it’s smooth and it’s—
It’s a good voice, basically.
And when he finds its owner, shadowed by the curtains in the corner, well. The leather jacket would’ve given him away if the mess of frizzy curls weren’t kind of an automatic tell:
Eddie the Freak. Half-hidden as he flips a clear antique of a lighter too fucking close to the gauzy drapes and it…it does something.
To Steve.
It does something to Steve.
