I've always wondered how the story would change if the Naruto world was an Omegaverse—especially if Naruto and Sasuke were opposite secondary genders. I'm convinced that with just a little push (mostly for Sasuke's side) toward exploring the possibility of a relationship, the entire plot would shift.
In this fic, the story starts from the very beginning of the canonical Naruto timeline and proceeds to retell the whole journey—mostly focusing on Naruto and Sasuke, and how the circumstances of this new world slowly transform them both.
(I'm terrible at summarizing, I know.) Basically, it's the classic Naruto plot… but layered with Omegaverse dynamics. This story doesn't rush into romance or typical mating tropes—it's a slow-burn emotional journey that stays faithful to the characters while weaving in that deep, instinctive tension and intimacy. Naruto tamped his pheromones a notch lower, reflex more than thought, a warm cinnamon hum contained to his own skin. “You get crowded enough,” he said. “I figured I could be the person who doesn’t crowd you.”
Sasuke didn’t answer immediately. The air shifted, he let the barest thread of his own pheromones slip. Naruto felt the recognition hum along his nerves and, more than anything, was pleased he knew the difference between notice and push.
“What happens,” Sasuke asked, quieter, “if I want you to?
Naruto blinked. “To… crowd you?”
“To stop pretending you’re not an alpha.”
“Then I stop pretending.” Naruto said, just as simply.

The reaction is immediate and merciless. Dustin makes a dramatic gagging noise. El gasps like she’s been handed gossip gold. Lucas high-fives Max, shaking her hand in his.
Mike doesn’t say anything. He just watches Will, watches the way he shrugs it off, the way he laughs a little too loud, the way his ears go red.

Luckily, when Mike finds out he is understanding. Maybe a little too understanding, though because suddenly he's offering up his room in case Will ever needs some privacy.

Now, how did he get here, Will Byers wonders. Never in his life would he imagine walking into his and Mike’s shared apartment with his best friend in the lap of another person.
At first, Will just assumed that Mike and his hookup came back to the apartment for the first time ever, and the girl liked having scrawny boys in her lap. He’s not one to assume, okay?! Just because he’s gay, doesn’t mean he can judge heterosexuals!
He would have brushed it off and snuck back out the door, but as he turned to leave- their cat meowed loudly, disrupting Mike and his chair.
Will looked up, prepared to introduce himself to the girl and apologize to his best friend, when there was definitely not a girl there.
In fact- the opposite of a girl was bracing Mike firmly around his thighs and waist. A bulky brunet glared at him from underneath the curly-haired boy, clearly unhappy at being disturbed.
