He paused again, his eyes narrowing in on Izzy's for a moment before he continued, slow and deliberate. "You want that too, don't you? To be good for me. To fight for me and protect me like a good dog would?"
Izzy wasn't sure what hurt more; Not being certain of his position as first mate, Edward knowing how he felt but never answering it, seeing the power take over his best friend or the strain on his legs from kneeling as Edward pet him like a dog.
Maybe it was the knowledge that even if he had known the outcome, he still would have gone through with the mutiny and made Edward captain.

It wasn’t exactly a secret that Dean Winchester loved his little brother, even if he didn’t go around saying it all the time. Demons knew it, angels knew it. Hell, God had written it as one of the goddamn rules of the universe. And yet, here he was, jaw clenched around the desire to tell Sam to find somewhere else to be.
He knew he was being ridiculous. Sam had lost Cas, too. Sam had spent days after Chuck was taken care of wanting to know more about how – it – happened, only to be met by stony silence from his brother.
But Dean lost Cas more. He always lost Cas more. And Sam was hogging Cas’s return tour all to himself, like he didn’t realize Dean got first dibs on the angel.

Summary
Ever since his father’s death, Castiel has been lonely. His job can only fill so many of his hours, but his attempts at dating have been unsuccessful.
A bright spot in his day is the tall stranger who shares his train platform during the morning commute. If Castiel could find someone as handsome and apparently successful as this man to share his life with, he’s sure his loneliness would be a thing of the past.
One day, the stranger falls onto the train tracks during a robbery gone wrong and Castiel saves his life.
