John couldn't exactly pinpoint the exact time that the flowers started dotting around his and Sherlock's flat, but if he had to guess, he would say it was only a month or so after he had initially moved in, and to say they had been a bit of a shock would be an understatement. The purple and yellow pansies were lovely, and Mrs. Hudson always hummed appreciatively whenever she saw them, but at first it had been...almost bizarre, to see something so bright and so seemingly out of place admits the chaos of crime-scene speculations and chemistry experiments that their flat had become.

“I need your assistance…,” Red Son paused for a bit, collecting his voice as he caught himself on the verge of stuttering. “…with the Dragon Girl.”
MK was WIDE awake now. He threw himself off the bed without even realizing it, and started pacing swiftly around the room gripping onto the phone. From the pause and sighs Red Son gave to the seemingly seriousness of the statement, MK immediately jumped the gun and said the first thing on his mind.
“DO YOU LIKE MEI?!” MK could hardly contain his excitement, almost shouting loud enough to get a potential noise complaint.
He heard sputtering on the other end as a response, and he didn’t even have to be face to face with Red Son to know he was burning up.

Pop music played over the mall speakers above Red Son as he meticulously examined a row of plushies in a toy store. Leaning forward, he got within inches of a plush, eyes narrowed.
Red Son needed this excursion to be an absolute secret.
Of course, it was no surprise that MK would find him.
As Red Son selected his plushie, scientifically squishing it for optimal firmness, a jarring squeak of sneakers came to a sudden halt behind him. “Oh! Hey Red Son! What’re you doing here?” MK was on him in an instant, all of Red Son’s senses bombarded by MK, complete with MK’s arm around his shoulders as he pointed to the plush. “And what’s thaaaaat?”
“Stop it,” grumbled Red Son, to no avail. He held out the plush out in both of their views.
It was a green dragon stuffy, the perfect size for cuddling.
MK gasped. “Awwww! Mei will love it!”
Red Son spoke before he could catch himself.
“It isn’t for Mei.”
MK stared. Red Son stared back. Against his will, Red Son’s face grew warm. MK’s eyes widened and he grinned. “Ooooh, that’s even cuter! It’s for you!”

Tang had the best idea.
It was dangerous. Life-threatening, even. Ah, but wasn’t he supposed to be developing into less of a coward? He was destined to try this.
He leaned against the counter of Pigsy’s Noodles, watching Pigsy stir a pot of fresh broth. Pigsy’s back was to Tang, determined to ignore Tang the way someone would ignore a begging dog.
Well. Tang would show him.
Sniffing, Tang drummed his fingers on his countertop. “That’s odd,” he commented.
Pigsy didn’t even bother to turn his head. “What’s odd?”
“It’s your broth.” Tang frowned. “Oh dear, I think the flavor may be off.”
Pigsy gasped. He raised the ladle to his own lips, sipping off of it. “You’re out of your mind, it’s perfect as always! Pah. Me, making anything subpar?”
It pained him to lie. “No no, I really think it’s not got enough salt,” insisted Tang.
“Oh, and you think you can tell by your sense of smell?” Pigsy slopped noodles, broth, vegetables, and beef into the dish, managing to not spill a drop. He shoved it down the counter at Tang. “How’s it feel to be wrong, Tang?”
Tang barely kept his joyful reaction under wraps. All according to plan.
