A sudden heat coursed through Leo, and he felt intense tension between his legs. His body stiffened, his shoulders tensed, and breathing inside the armor became a conscious effort.
Annabel slid her hands around his waist, pressing herself against his body, while her voice dropped even lower, almost like a secret meant only for him:
“Lenore...”
A shiver ran down Leo's spine, and he bit his lower lip hard, trying to stifle the moan that threatened to escape.

Erick was twenty-three years old and, until a few weeks ago, had no idea that Drylake Reserve even existed. A name forgotten on the map, surrounded by ancient forests and even worse legends. But, unemployed and with bills piling up, he didn't exactly have the luxury of turning down his uncle's recommendation-especially when the job came with housing, food, and a steady salary. Being a forest ranger had never been in his plans, but it seemed better than staying idle.
Since he didn't know how to drive-a detail that Félix, his best friend, never let slip-he needed his friend to give him a ride there. The trip was uneventful... until halfway.
After that, the road seemed narrower, the cell phone signal disappeared, and the trees began to lean as if they were whispering to each other. Félix laughed, saying it was just his imagination. Erick laughed too, but inside he felt a pang.
Luckily, I found them in one piece. Félix patted him on the shoulder, wished him good luck, and left before it got dark. And suddenly, Erick was alone. New people. New place. A silence that seemed alive. Now it was him, the forest and its shadows. His mission? To work, survive, and - above all - not go crazy.

Pluto raised his head to look at Morella, but his attention was drawn outside the car. Eulalie was running past right in front of them, carrying two eco-friendly beach bags with a marine theme and a huge smile on her face. She got into the car—which looked more like a van, it was so spacious, with room for eight people to sit.
She threw the bags on the seat across from her and immediately got out again, running to the trunk, where Lenore and Berenice were still organizing the last few things.
Morella chuckled.
“Well, it looks like no one is going to forget anything... they're taking more than they need, just in case,” she commented, opening the glove compartment in search of her sunglasses. But instead, she found a box of cigarettes. She turned slowly to Pluto, one eyebrow arched.
“I thought you said you quit smoking,” she said, narrowing her eyes.
Pluto's eyes widened, like a cat caught in the act. He cleared his throat and unbuckled his seatbelt.
“I'll see if your glasses are in the back,” he said, getting out of the car without looking at her.
