Granger bristled at his assertion. “My life is on the line every day.”
“So. Is. Mine.” He growled back. “Give me my fucking wand and don’t be so bloody obvious when you contact me.”
She narrowed her eyes. “I already told you I'd be more careful next time.”
She better be.
“One more thing.”
“What, Malfoy?” she snapped, still angry she hadn’t gotten the information she wanted.
He pointed his finger at her so she would understand how important this was. “You need to learn Occlumency. If you’re captured, I’m dead.”
She stared back in defiance. “We both are.”
He couldn’t argue with that.
She tossed his wand to the floor and Disapparated with a crack.

He never tried to fool himself, Silco knew that he wasn't a good man. He always did what he knew was best for Zaun. Which entailed stepping on a few bugs, and releasing a few monsters of his own. He has more skeletons in his closet and bodies buried beneath his shitty throne than anyone knew. Progress required sacrifice, he knew that better than anyone. Yet this uncontrollable force of nature that took a human form within her… made his stone heart thrum to life once again. Whenever she came to him a mess, like her world was falling apart, sometimes, just sometimes, he wished he could have done better by her.

Summary
When they're young and naive, friendship blossoms easily between Eren Jaeger and Armin Arlert. But, as time passes, feelings begin to shift. After years of pining and fruitless hoping, Armin finally comes clean about his crush on the day of their high school graduation. Time is not on the boys' side and once summer vacation ticks to a close Eren is shipped off to Army Basic Training while Armin finds himself furthering his school career. Distance isn't kind, and, inevitably, the relationship falls apart. Eight years pass slowly without Eren to lean on, but Armin treks on. Though he's plagued by grief, he continues living the best he can. Slowly, he finds hope in old friends and begins to build himself up as an individual without clinging to the memory of Eren.
That is until Eren's life violently collides with Armin's own when he moves into the apartment next door.
