Summary
The Great Crusade has come to Eusan. An overzealous Mechanicum Magos has wrongly declared Replikas as Abominable Intelligence. Both the Empire and Nation face a conquering force beyond their wildest imaginings.
When a group of Imperial Knights is deployed to Kitezh, weapons primed and shields alight, a small group of the Grand Empress's own knights - the Kaisaringard - rise to the challenge. But against such reckless hate and desire for glory, at all costs, what is Victory if not pure survival?
And when the old order crashes down around them, will they face their deaths nobly? Or...will they, in their spite, unleash something far darker?
(A prequel to "Where Laments the Bound and Bargained Soul", set during the conquest of the Eusan system by the Imperium of Man. It is advantageous, though *optional*, to have read up to chapter 100 or so in that fic.)
