Booze, drugs, sex... Things can get messy real fast if you don't watch your step, but of course there's some things you just can't avoid. Like the college causing a mix-up with your dorm room situation.When two girls that are the best of friends try their hardest to make sure they're rooming together, they immediately celebrate when they realize they succeeded... And then realize right after that they're assigned to a house on campus belonging to a fraternity.
Full of skeletons.

After a long discussion between the great king, accompanied by his great advisor, and the officials of the cities closest to the great mountain that hid the monsters away, Monsterkind was given the opportunity to grow under the warm sun, within the safety of foster homes.
But that is not all. Along with dealing with the reintegration of monsters into society, and fighting for them to get basic human rights, the barrier dropping released concentrated magic back into the world. For those humans who descended from monsters, it poses an interesting problem when long dormant magical genes and cells are reactivated violently. One cold winter day, you accidently run face first into the cement ribs of a dangerous skeleton monster. And feeling both annoyed and brave, you accidently threaten to dust him. Feeling marked, you then you run into him again. And again. And, honestly, you're not quite sure why he hasn't just killed you yet. Is he toying with you?

So Y/N and Wheatley take care of the sane skeletons. The relatively safe Sanses and Papyruses. But what happens to the ones that aren't safe? They can sometimes stumble through an errant portal like the Bitties. And the multiversal, homicidal skeletons? They need to be taken care of too.
That's where you come in. You're an ex-member of the underground, separated yourself from your not-so-voluntary time as an assassin. But when you have a relatively short temper and questionable sanity, what kind of job can you get? None that last more than a week or two, that's what.
At least, until you find an add posted in the deep web. It was a relatively domestic job, asking for caretaker and live in psychiatrist for monsters that may be homicidal. It was in the deep web because the job was secret, and the potential employee could possibly die.
Homicidal monsters with magic? What sane person would take that job?
Well, you did, so there goes any pretense at sanity.

I wanted some more romance and a more realistic, super slow build up than a lot of the SansxReader fics I read on this site, so I decided to write something of my own :) It starts with some background SansxToriel, then it moves to a platonic friendship with the skeletons and their friends. I also wanted a much more assertive reader - There be no damsels here, whether overprotective Sans likes it or not.
A lot of the content in this is based on real events in my life, just rearranged to fit the story I want to tell. Many names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Monsters have been freed from the underground, and honestly, you don't really think they should have. You wouldn't consider yourself 'racist', you just fear for your own safety when murderers wander the streets and move in next door.
So spilling coffee all over a very large and intimidating skeleton monster was probably not your best move ever. But instead of gutting you, he offers to buy you another coffee. And, despite his... 'crude' language, he seems to be a nice guy. Maybe monsters aren't so bad after all?
