The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Summary
Grace Chasity has come up with the perfect plan to get Max out of sight and out of mind... only it goes the exact opposite of what she plans. After a failed attempt at making him get so scared that he pisses himself, Max Jägerman has joined Grace's new friend group. It's torture for her. But because of how witty she is, Grace comes up with another plan, this time one to make Max hate her and by association have all of the impure thoughts she normally has for him to disappear, and it works for a little while. That is until Stephanie Lauter asks Grace for the biggest favor of her life: date Max Jägerman.
Max Jägerman is liking his new friend group. Sure he can't pound nerds in the hallways anymore, but he sure can be friends with them. One day, Max overhears a conversation between Grace and Steph where Grace confesses his hatred for him, and how she wishes that he would hate her as well. Prepared to do anything for her, Max fakes his hatred for Grace. Their frienimues relationship goes over well until Pete asks Max something he would've never thought would come out of Pete's mouth: date Grace Chasity.

Summary
Scar feels the same warmth alight in his chest, wondering briefly if the sensation is at all similar to burning alive. He breathes the feeling away, not particularly keen on keeping it around. He allows the deep appreciation to stay curled in his chest, proud of how far they've come in terms of trust. Grian never allowed anyone to touch him, outside of the rare arm thrown over his shoulders in victory, until recently. Only with Scar will he allow brief touches.
A quick pat to Grian's shoulder when he's knelt in the garden for too many hours, pulling him up to go inside and eat. Grabbing his wrist to tug him along whatever ridiculous plan Scar had come up with for the day. Scar bumping his shoulder into Grian's with a laugh when they walk alongside each other and Grian cracks a particularly funny joke. The barest touch to the small of Grian's back to nudge him out of the way in the mornings, when Scar needed to squeeze by in their compact kitchen. Grian almost always jumps from that touch, but never seems to complain aloud.
Scar assumes he doesn't mind since Grian has never been the type to keep his mouth shut when it comes to his own displeasure.

Scar is nice, intelligent, charming, and handsome, and Grian absolutely despises him. Probably because Grian has had a crush on his roommate for ages, but it’s fine. He can just avoid Scar and he will never need to even think about it.
Though being distracted by this problem, is yet to notice some new feelings emerging.
