A retelling of Persuasion where everything is the same, except Wentworth is a pirate. Or a privateer, if one wishes to be proper. After returning from the seas, Frederick has another battle to fight: his feelings for Anne. Anne herself is also feeling the effect of his return.
Both are still reeling from the effects of their past. Although each wishes to avoid the other, they cannot deny the attraction that exists between them.

Elphaba felt the wind rush against her face and scalp. The wind whipped her cloak around. She might be going faster if it weren’t for the cloak, but it was too precious to her. Maybe it was her imagination, but she somehow felt that she could still feel the warmth of Galinda- sorry, Glinda’s hands tying it around her. She felt the broom darting out towards the horizon as she grabbed on for dear life. And yet, her broom seemed to understand her. It seemed to understand what she wanted. Like it was a part of her. She felt sadness at having left Glinda and Fiyero. She felt fear at what the future might hold for her. But more than anything else she felt anger like nothing she’d ever felt before. She had spent her whole life dreaming of meeting the Wizard, dreaming of a world that she would not be at the mercy of. All her life she dreamed, all for it to turn out to be smoke and mirrors.
She refused to be used. She refused to be a pawn. As she rocketed towards the setting sun, all feelings melted away, as if blown off by the headwinds. The only thing left was determination. If the Wizard wasn’t going to help the Animals, she sure as hell would.
