"Calm down. Take deep breaths. You're hyperventilating", Senkuu let him sit on the floor and crouched next to him. And deep breaths he took. In and out. In and out. He wiped quickly the last of his tears away, suddenly embarrassed with his outburst. "And to answer your question", Senkuu continued like nothing had happened after he'd calmed down, which Gen appreciated, "Weeks, I'd say. Months. Depends on what you define as the beginning." Gen stared blankly ahead, not really seeing anything, not really even trying.
"You're white as a ghost. Are you okay? Wait, stupid question. Obviously you aren't. We have to clean those wounds of yours right now. Did you find anything useful?"
"...I found cereal?"

adjective | not consistent or having a fixed pattern; liable to change.In a science experiment, there are three kinds of variables: independent, dependent and controlled. This is one of the first things about science that Senku learns as a kid and has followed that rule until he meets (Full Name) who changes that one rule.
She shows him there is a fourth kind of variable: constant. To Senku, science is never about consistency as things are always evolving and changing, yet that doesn't apply to (Name) and he can never understand it.
However, maybe it isn't such a bad thing in this stone world where Senku will learn how consistency plays an important role in science.
