The story takes place after the "good ending" of Metro: Last Light and mostly adheres closely to canon. This focuses on Artyom and Pavel's reunion after the events at the end of the game; from there, things happen, the unexpected unfolds, and characters grow.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Hi all! I'm currently slowly rewriting this fic and bringing it up to my 2026 writing standards, which are quite far from what I used to put out back when I wrote it. I live for your kind comments, and for those of you who still read this story even after so many years, so I really want to improve it. So I'll work on the chapters when I have time. So far, only the first chapter has been mostly edited and improved, so if you are new and see a sudden drop in quality, that's why!
