“No, it’s not that –” Keith tries to backtrack. “We just – we –” he isn’t sure what he’s going to say, he just knows he has to say something before he and Lance are forced to have sex with some weird alien species, while also keeping the weird alien king happy enough to create an alliance with them.
But not for the first time and not for the last, Lance pulls through.
Of course, this time pulling through almost gives Keith a heart attack, because Lance slips his fingers through Keith’s so that they’re holding hands.
“What Keith here means to say,” Lance says, and although his voice is steady, he is gripping Keith’s fingers so tightly it’s painful. “Is that we can’t mate with your people, although we, um, appreciate the offer, because, well. We already are. M-mated, I mean. With, you know. Each other.”

What a beautiful and soft tale of hurt, comfort, and learning to trust again. Everything progresses so naturally in such beautifully paced prose with such wonderful characterisation and just the right amount of blossoming feeling that makes for a truly heart touching read.

I love when fics don't portray Q as weak or utterly hopeless beyond his technological prowess. This fic does so in such a fantastically believable way, highlighting Q's competence AND Bond's draw to the unknown and deadly with excellent characterisation and sharp dialogue.

Bond is back at MI6 after the loss of M, and he is struggling on his own. His neighbour and the music they play is a brief ray of light through some of his darkest days. That and the newly forming friendship with his quartermaster.
I love this fic so very much. It is a delicate and very real look into the kinds of things people may suffer through grief. The author has included links to musical pieces within the fic, as well as having chosen pieces that are apt and manage to provide a truly wonderful listening experience whilst being immersed in the emotional steps throughout the fic itself.

John moves on, but never really moves on, and it's soon apparent that Mary is not enough. Could never BE enough.
A must read.

Sherlock suffers from crippling migraines with unusual symptoms, of which John has never seen before. The doctor has to come to terms with not only Sherlock's symptoms and suffering, but his feelings for the consulting detective in the process.
This is a definite must read. Emotionally charged, immersive, and refreshingly unique, this fic is everything you could ask for in a hurt/comfort scenario and more.

Sherlock gets a tongue piercing and John is driven to the edge of madness asking the repeated question of "why?"
The answer is one John isn't expecting, and along the way, the dynamic between the two flatmates change forever.This is an absolutely brilliant Johnlock fic. The characterisations are extremely true to detail, and the concept behind the entire fic is fresh and engaging. Kept me devouring it right up until the end.
Even for those not too keen on the smut aspect of a Johnlock relationship, the author has also made it so you can stop reading at chap 4 without anything too graphic, and still have your fix provided in a nice n healthy dose.
Definite must read.

Greg is a lonely, stubborn man. Thankfully, Mycroft is much the same. Greg works on his own methods of seducing said senior Holmes, and just doesn't take no for an answer.
One of my all time fave Mystrade fics. Characters are so spot on that it makes me outright giddy. It's a slow kind of burn that heats up pretty nicely, but then just kind of simmers into a fantastically fluffy resolution after a bunch of angst and general heartache. A must for any Mystrade fan.

Sherlock has deduced John, and he has deduced something that even the good doctor wasn't aware of. All he asks John for is the chance to prove it.
Denial plays a big role in this fic, but it's written so differently from the cliche John-In-Denial fic that it really comes out as a perfect kind of simmer, as opposed to a clumsy shamble. Sherlock and John are both deliciously in character, and talk about erotic smut! Far too easy to find yourself blushing, swooning, and wondering where the hell your saliva's at.
Brilliant oneshot, and a must read for smut enthusiasts and Johnlock schmoop alike.

Sherlock knows how John smells, how he sounds, how he looks, and how his skin feels to touch. However, he's yet to taste John, and when the doctor catches him staring and asks what Sherlock wants, the words leave his mouth before he can reel them in.

Absolutely beautiful Johnlock fic, in which Sherlock gradually comes to discover that there are differences between having something to die for and something to live for, and that somewhere along the way, he's found both in the one deal.
There are trials in love, in parenthood, in loss, and in grief.
Characterisations are spot on. Sherlock is a delight, in terms of how very true to character he is here. Oddly enough, one of my highlights was actually Mycroft and Sherlock's brief interactions. Flawless.
John is a little damaged, but the natural progression of his grief is so very relatable.
Absolutely worth a read.

Quite possibly the greatest UST one shot out there. Characterisation was spot on, and at least in my mind, this fic passes as canon.
