Summary
Cas Novak and Dean Winchester were two very different people, and, as cliche as it's going to sound, from two very different worlds:
Where one lives in a run-down trailer park on the edge of town with his five other siblings and his heroin addict mother, the other lives your average suburban life, mom and dad and baby brother Sammy all in a nice house with a picket fence-- or well, he did before his father up and left them for his pregnant mistress.
When the two of them are brought together to work on a history project on an American social movement of their choice, Cas and Dean may just find that they aren't so different after all.
(Mainly focusing on Castiel/Dean, but will have a decent amount of Gabriel/Sam and Charlie/Dorothy)A lot of inspiration for this comes from both The Fosters and Shameless.

Summary
Castiel Novak has not seen or heard from Dean Winchester in what, four years? And that's a good thing, really, it is. Why the hell would he want to see the son of the man who almost destroyed not only Halloweentown but his world as well? But when Dean Winchester takes up residence in his home as part of his younger sister's oh so brilliant 'foreign' exchange program between Halloweentown and the human world, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to the other warlock, all the while fighting to remind himself what his father did- what Dean more or less allowed to happen. It's getting harder and harder to remember, though.
This AU is based on the movie Halloweentown, specifically Halloweentown High. This story will not follow the plot of those movies in their entirety, but it is set in that universe.

In the life of Dean Winchester, facts were everything. Facts were what could save your life - that’s what his dad always told him. So he made sure to always remind himself of the most important ones.
Fact number one: Family is the most important thing there is.
Fact number two: Once a hunter, always a hunter. Hunters don’t find love or settle down. There’s no retirement, just the hunt - and then another, and another - until you die.
Fact number three: Monsters are out there, and if you don’t kill them, they’ll kill you. Nothing supernatural can be good, and every creature needs to be dealt with swiftly.
