Dan Feng has been acting odd.
Jing Yuan didn’t want to hold it against him. After all, he was grieving. The both of them were, for their friends who died in their most recent mission. And it was even worse for him, for he lost his fiancé as well.
So he could excuse him for wanting to coop himself up in his dorm, rejecting all invitations to go out and relax, or even refusing Jing Yuan’s attempts to visit him and check on him, despite acting pretty normal outside of that.
But a set of odd occurrences led Jing Yuan to think that perhaps, his actions weren’t as simple as that.

Dan Feng, the heir to the Luofu throne, was given only one objective when attending Princess Feixiao’s enthronement. And that is to successfully court Yaoqing’s second princess, Baiheng, to establish a better allyship with the Yaoqing should Luofu need their help.
In order to do so, he had to make sure that Zhuming’s Crown Prince, Yingxing, did not stand in his way.

That is, until a certain someone comes along and flips the whole meaning of torture around.
