Summary
Keeping his eyes closed does nothing to lessen the pain. The annoyingly familiar, soothing trickle of Peter’s words wash over him, and yet all Miguel can feel is the pain rising like the tides, taking its source in his belly and crawling up his chest to bury its venomous fangs in his heart. It doesn’t have enough decency to numb it like his own venom does.
Miguel is having a bad day, and then it gets worse when Peter leaves.

If Tony lets his silence speak for itself, it’s only partially because his throat is closing up on him at an alarming rate.

It's not so much that Tony is upset that everyone keeps forgetting his birthdays— he's an adult, he can handle his teammates, the people sharing his house with him, his friends, not remembering to even wish him a happy birthday, but he can't help but feel that— actually yes, he is upset.
Tony is upset that people keep forgetting his birthday. He doesn't forget their birthdays! He, in fact, goes out of his way to give them the best birthdays that money can buy! Birthdays are important, he knows they are important, and he wants to show everyone how important they are, and they are his friends, right???
