Dick pressed two fingers up against Tim’s neck and when Tim didn’t glare at him or knock the hand away, Dick’s concern grew, especially when he felt just how slow Tim’s pulse was.
“And you’re sure you’re not hurt?” Dick asked. “We all know how some hits can be harder than we realise at the time.”
“I’m not hurt.” Tim grumbled, crossing his arms. “Just leave me alone, would you? I’m fine. I… Just…”
Tim tilted, his words slurring. His arms slowly shifted until they were loosely at his sides instead and Dick had to put a hand on Tim’s shoulder to keep him upright. Dick gently put the back of his hand against Tim’s forehead and Tim leant into the touch.
“You’re burning up, Bud,” Dick said. “How long have you been feeling sick?”
Tim just hummed, eyes barely open.

After being exposed to a chemical that has already hospilitilised Tim Drake, Dick Grayson is put on medical supervision that he very much does not need because he is perfectly okay. The nausea is just because he had something dodgy to eat and the dizziness is because he just hasn't had enough to drink. Not wanting his family to be needlessly hovering over him, Dick goes to his apartment in Blüdhaven instead when he absolutely feels perfectly fine and does not need help what-so-ever because he is the eldest and the others always look to him for reassurance.
Okay, maybe he's a little bit sick but it's not that bad, really.
He's fine.

Tim practically shoves through the other people exiting the theatre to get to the bathroom. Anxiety makes his hands shake as he shuts a stall door and takes a look.

His heart drops in his chest.

"You just turned fourteen a few weeks ago, right?” Jason whistled. “And I thought I died young.”
Tim shook his head. Took a step back.
No. Nope. No way.
This was not happening.
Or: After Tim dies, his soul remains stuck as a ghost at the Manor. Forced to watch Dick and Bruce grieve him and unable to do anything, the only thing making the afterlife bearable is Jason. Until the day his ghost departs.
Tim assumes that Jason has passed on. But then the Red Hood breaks into the Cave. And for the first time, someone can see Tim.

It was getting to the point where Jason almost expected Tim to appear next to him, holding out the piece of evidence he had dived after. Knowing the chaos child, Tim might even have started making his way back to the cave, specifically leaving Jason here to wonder if the damned brat had actually drowned.
Sure, Red Robin had had his rebreather on, but something wasn’t sitting right with Jason.
Jason leaned fully forward, splashing a hand into the gross water, waiting for Tim to grab onto his wrist and pull him in or something.
There was no monsters that grasped onto him, not even some kind of mutated fish. There was no movement within the water either, not including the small current.
“Very funny Red,” Jason called. “Time to come up now.”
When there was no satisfied shit eating grin from the other young man, Jason felt his heart sink a little.

Tim jolted so hard that the laptop fell from his knees but he had no chance to check to see if it was damaged, both hands already pressed up against his mouth once more as he coughed and coughed and coughed.
“Shit, Kid,” Jason whistled. “That actually sounds pretty bad.”
One of Tim’s hand shifted from his mouth to give a weak middle finger but then he was lurching forward with a terrible sound.
Jason shifted closer.
“Timbit?”
Tim waved him away, adding another bird for good measure, but he couldn’t seem to calm his coughs long enough to take a breath let alone say something. His whole body was shaking with each cough, his sweater in no way thick enough to keep him warm down here.

Robin rolls in and out of consciousness. He reaches out, snatches the smell of copper and the touch of leather, and he holds Hood’s hand and he does not let go.
He’s allowed to say it now.
“Jason,” he says. “Don’t leave.”
