When McCullum is attacked and wounded steps from the Pembroke Hospital on a trip to make peace with the Brotherhood of Saint Paul's Stole--by a human--it becomes clear they have more worries still, and they need each other still. Summary
He dimly remembers heirlooms like this back at the orchard: binders of pictures, chintzy artwork, and scribbles commemorating the reunions or anniversaries or what-have-you of various Alenkos over the decades. None of the scrapbooks back home have the violently purple hue of this one, though. None of their titles are quite like what’s emblazoned across the front of this one, either.
