    Getting roped in with dangerous cases is always a bad idea. The time Lu Guang nearly died from being stabbed is a good example of that. Unfortunately, even if a task doesn't seem particularly harmful, dangerous twists and turns lurk around every corner. This is how Lu Guang has accidentally found himself being waterboarded for questions on how he managed to come to a conclusion that put a small organization in jeopardy.

    "I mean, you guys picked this commission, so it's technically on you," Qiao Ling pointed out with a laugh.

    Cheng Xiaoshi groaned, returning to the takeout Qiao Ling had brought.

    Lu Guang hadn't touched his food yet, his brows furrowed, showing subtle frustration and disbelief at the sheer amount of photos.

    "This is ridiculous..." Lu Guang muttered, picking up a photo and examining it.

    Despite being his best friend, roommate, and business partner, there was surprisingly little that Cheng Xiaoshi really knew about Lu Guang.

    His roommate rarely shared anything about his past life. In fact, to-date, all that Cheng Xiaoshi had been able to pry out of him was that he was:

    1. An only child
    2. Allergic to bananas

    Cheng Xiaoshi was still unsure if that second one was an actual allergy, or just one of those things Lu Guang said because he didn’t enjoy the fruit's texture.

    He was unsure about a lot of things about Lu Guang. It frustrated him.

    The younger boy was decidedly a closed book. Conversations about their childhoods always circled back to Cheng Xiaoshi, so did ones about their parents, friends, and dating lives before they met each other. Cheng Xiaoshi had been able to shrug it off before, but the longer they knew each other the more it felt like Lu Guang was keeping secrets.

    He seemed particularly nervous about the topic of romance.
