Dennis is painfully aware of the fact that he age regresses. It was a coping mechanism that surprised even him, but that brought him endless comfort. The thing is, he hasn't been able to drop into that headspace since he was twenty-three. Basically, since he officially completed his undergrad, started medical school, and became unhoused. It wasn't safe. Not for him and not for little Denny.

“Jus’ leave me alone! Go away.” Trinity’s voice was shaking, the same way her body was wracked with tremors. Her cheeks were flushed from terror and tears, eyes red-rimmed and shiny with them as she hiccuped. She hugged her knees tight to her chest, hiding her chin and only peeking her eyes out to glare at Langdon.
Or, Santos regresses while on shift, and gets seen by none other than Frank Langdon. Surely this won’t bring up any bad memories (wrong). Thankfully, Dennis comes to her rescue.

A young man stumbled up to them, looking visibly inebriated. He leaned into Robby's space, a glint of fear in his eyes despite the smile on his face.
“Heeyyy,” the young man slurred, Robby couldn't smell any alcohol on him, but that didn't mean much.
“Could you do me a like, reaally big favor?” Both Robby and Jack have turned to face the man at this point.
“What can we do for you, sweetheart?” Jack says, mildly amused. The kid's grin turns a little dopey at the pet name, and he seems to momentarily forget what he was doing. Robby nods, encouraging him to continue.
“Ooh, right,” the kid nods, “Can you pretend to be my boyfriend?” Jack snorts at that, Robby lets out a long, weary sigh.
