Doubts are dangerous things though, things that have landed him in a dank cell hidden underneath the Avengers Tower with two strangers on the other side of the locked door. At least, he thinks they're strangers...

Summary
Sandalphon places one hand gingerly on Gran’s chest and pushes him back down against the mattress and the pillows. In an instant his words have frozen into ice, “There is nothing talk about, Singularity.” The ice chills his blood and sends his spine tingling in anticipation. He lines his words with steel, edging his fight or flight into overdrive. Gran finds himself hanging off every syllable, relishing in the way Sandalphon forces himself to spit out “Singularity” like they’re enemies all over again.

Instances like this are the only time he truly seems focused on Belial, when the progress of his experimentation captures his full attention. It's not nearly enough but it's far better than being sent off to do something useful nowhere near Cilius' side. "I'm in your hands, then."
