“I apologized to everyone individually, including you, and they all managed to understand!” Fade jabbed a finger at Jett's chest with every word. “Clearly, you won’t, so tell me— what do you want me to do, Jett?”
A scream was building up in the wind girl’s throat, but for once, she held it back. Instead, drowning out her anger was a mix of helplessness and frustration.
“I– I don’t fucking know— something better than just saying sorry!” Jett cried out, shoving Fade away from her. “M-Maybe stop plaguing my sleep with your stupid nightmares!”
…Shit.
A wave of dread washed over Jett along with the silence that ensued. She hadn’t meant to let that last comment slip.

ATTENTION SPOILERS
The girl group Huntr/x are traveling in Japan and investigating the current demon activities there.
...Full of energy, Zoey leaves the ladies' room in a good mood and walks purposefully straight into the main hall.
She immediately notices the many printed posters of various bands and singers on the walls to the left and right of the singer, including the members of the Saja Boys. A large fan community has formed around the group in recent years and they are fervently hoping that they will return one day. The demon hunter has similar thoughts, because their music has indeed inspired her, even if it only served to conquer the world, Zoey simply cannot forget it and is suddenly reminded of it again when the well-known song Soda Pop blares out over the loudspeaker above her head. Immediately, the shoulders of Zoey begin to move in their usual rhythm and she marches almost dancing to the red semicircular couch, where the green-haired idol is sitting completely relaxed and already enjoying an ordered alcoholic cocktail. "...Need you...Fill me...Oh Yeah..."
Zoey sings the lyrics in parts consciously, she hasn't heard them for a long time...

Her plan, as tenuous a description as that word was, was to cut the patterns out. If she could cut out the parts of her that made her dangerous, that made her less than human, that made her so unloveable, maybe she’d stop feeling so fucking guilty every time Mira or Zoey opened up to her.

Well. This is harder than them just killing her, Rumi thinks. Maybe she shouldn’t be surprised, because Zoey has always enjoyed the hunt, performing each fight like it’s a sort of game of cat-and-mouse, and this is...the same thing, Rumi thinks. Just another demon to be dealt with.
“Rumi,” Mira presses, her voice closer than it had been.
Rumi almost wants to laugh. Great. The world’s worst cat-and-mouse game, where they’re apparently treating her like a friend before they kill her. That’s great. Celine would be so proud that they’re fulfilling all their hunter duties of taking care of each other while killing demons.
“Rumi, I need you to talk to me,” Zoey says, her voice getting a little more insistent. “Can you tell me how long you’ve had these?”
“Forever,” Rumi rasps out, because, well, they’ve caught her. She’s been effortlessly caught in a trap, and there’s no use trying to gnaw off her own arm to escape it. She’s tried before; her patterns exist beyond just branding on her skin.
